Service is a collection of attributes which specify how a customer is authenticated
and billed for his use of the system. Following picture shows the Service properties:
- Service Name
A Name describing this service
- Sign-up Fee
This is a one time fee. When you Renew/Change service for a customer who already
has been assigned a service, this fee will not appear.
- Subscription Fee
If a service has a Subscription fee, every time you Renew/Change service for a customer,
that customer will be charged this Subscription Fee.
- Duration
Specifies the duration of the service in Days, Hours or Minutes. This value will be
used in "Renew/Change Service" page and is added to End Date of Customer. If the
value of this attribute is 0, when you assign this service to a customer, the Customer's
"End Date" will be "12/30/2020" to simulate "no end date".
The dropdown next to Duration box determines the unit of measure for the Duration.
Valid values are Day, Hour, and Minute.
- Activate on first Login
Use this checkbox when you would like to end the service to customers a certain
amount of time after their first login. For example, customer can be limited to
only login during 24 hours of his first login.
- Billing Mode
Selecting Credit/Post-Paid mode will allow a user use system without having a positive
Balance.
In Debit/Pre-Paid Mode, the Customer must have a positive Balance to be able to
Access the system. (Only when Charge Per Minute and/or Charge Per Kilobyte values
are not zero, or in VoIP mode)
- Billing Day
Specifies the Day of Month to charge Customers' credit card or sending a bill. Not
used at this time.
- Max Concurrent Connections
This specifies how many concurrent connections a Customer may have at the same time.
- Max Allowed Logins
A customer may have more than one LoginID. This attribute limits the number of LoginIDs
which can be created for customer.
- Status
If the Disable box is checked, None of the LoginIDs will be able to access the system.
- EAP Type
When Authenticating using EAP protocol, this attribute specifies to use which EAP
type to authenticate customers of this Service.
- Custom Attributes
You can assign multiple custom RADIUS attributes to each service. When a user is
successfuly authenticated by the RADIUS server and an Access_Accept packet is about
to be sent, server will check the custom attributes of the related service. If there
is any custom attributes assigned to the service, all those attributes along with
their pre-defined values will be added to the packet.
For example, you can define different Filter-ID, Framed-Compression or bandwidth
values for different services. In order to use this feature, you must enable the
"Custom Attributes" Setting. For more information see
Custom Attributes
- Surcharges
When a user gets disconnected from system, an Accounting-Request packet is sent
to RADIUS server. This packet includes some attributes which describe the properties
of the connection. You can define rules to apply surcharges to the service based
on values of these attributes. For example, you can add a one-time fee to the service,
if a customer is calling from a cell phone. Surcharge can be a one-time fee or a
per minute fee. These fees are deductions from Customer's balance. For more information
see Surcharges
- Start Time / End Time
In each service, 24 hours of a day can be divided to two part. One Primary Service
Period, and one Secondary. This feature gives you the ability to have 2 different
rates for usage time, or even disable access at certain times (using "Charge Per
Minute" less than 0). If the time of day which user tries to connect is between
Start Time and End Time of the Primary Period, Service is considered at Primary
Period. If not, Service will be in Secondary Period.
- Charge Per Minute
There are 2 "Charge Per Minute" text boxes, one for each Period. If this attribute
is not zero, Customer will be charged for each Minute of use. If this value is less
than zero, users will not be able to login at this period.
- Minimum Minutes charged
A non-zero value for this attribute specifies the minimum amount of time that customer
will be charged for each connection. For example, if a Customer makes a 2 minutes
connection and "Minimum Minutes charged" is 10 minutes, the connection time will
be considered 10 minutes.
- Charge Per Kilobyte
If this attribute is not zero, the Customer will be charged for each Kilobyte (sum
InputOctets and InputOctets divided by 1000) of use.
- First Call Fee
This is a one-time fee deducted from Customer's balance only the first time Customer
connects to the system.
- Connection Fee
This is a fee deducted from Customer's balance every time Customer connects to the
system.
- Maintenance Fee
This is a fee deducted from Customer's balance based on the number of days specified
here. Customer will be charged this fee only he has started using the system. This
fee will not apply to customers who have not yet connected to the system.
