This page allows you to check the status of the Evolynx RADIUS Server Service
and issue commands to reload configuration settings or clear Evolynx RADIUS
log. Following image is a presentation of the Settings/Service Command Page.
Top section of this page allows you to select a computer name. Please note that
this name is not a DNS name or IP address. It's a Windows name. If Evolynx
RADIUS service is installed on the same computer as your Evolynx Admin, you can
use "." as the computer name. (localhost will not work.)
Other thing that you should keep in mind is that when using a web based
application, access rights are determined from ASPNET user (defined as a
special user in your computer Windows operating system by ASP.net). In a normal
situation ASPNET user does not have the required access rights to start and
stop a service. If you want to be able to start and stop Evolynx Service using
the web Admin, ASPNET user should be configured to "Act as part of the
operating system". This is not recommended because of security concerns. There
is also another workaround for this problem which is called "Impersonation" and
also is not recommended.
Following sections describe what each button does:
Change Server
Allows you to connect to a new server that it's name is entered in the text
box.
Refresh Status
Simply refreshes the screen to display the current status of the service.
Start
If permissions are set correctly, allows you to Start the Evolynx Service.
Stop
If permissions are set correctly, allows you to Stop the Evolynx Service.
Reload Configuration
Prompts the Evolynx Service to reload it's configuration. If you make a change
in the Settings page, use this button to reload the configuration settings.
Changes to the configuration settings will not take effect until Evolynx
service reloads the settings.
Note: Some of the settings (like IP address and Port Numbers) require Evolynx
Service to stop/start.
Reload Client Information
Causes the service to reload the list of RADIUS Clients.
Reload Dictionary File
Prompts the Evolyxn Service to reload the RADIUS Dictionary information.
Reload Proxy settings
Prompts the Evolyxn Service to reload the RADIUS Proxy settings from proxy file.
Clear Error Log
Clears Evolynx RADIUS Log (both text file and log stored in database)
View Error Log
Redirect you to another page which lets you view the Evolynx log stored in
database. This log is only created if "Log in Database Also" check box in
Settings page is selected.
Process Notification
Causes the service to start processing "Email Notifications".
